2007 REGULAR CLASSES

nicola blance (penarlton

I would like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge the regular classes and Best of Breed at their show and also to the exhibitors that entered and attended.

I felt the presentation of all exhibits was above standard and I would like to thank all exhibitors for this, as this made it more of a joy to judge some wonderful dogs. I was extremely pleased with my overall winners, however was a little concerned when I found a few incorrect mouths whilst judging. I feel this could need to be watched closely.

Many thanks also to the committee for my lovely hamper in my room on arrival and the stunning, hand painted  "Eng. Ch. Penarlton Cast No Shadow" Corgi Tea Pot – I was very touched with this.

He has a lovely head, although his eyes, for me, could be a shade darker they did not detract from his lovely expression. Good lay of shoulder giving him a superb front and correctly shaped feet. Good reach of neck leading to a level topline. Good rear angulation. Moved well both coming and going. This dog, out moved most of the youngsters today. Not only was it a great honor to award this outstanding male BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX, it was also a great honor to judge such a beautiful male that I have admired for many years. 2007 SWEEPSTAKES

chris blance (penliath)

I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Committee of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of the Garden State for inviting me to Judge the Sweepstakes at their 12th Annual Specialty. My gratitude also goes to my excellent Stewards for their hard work and efficient way they managed my ring. The hospitality extended by the Club along with the beautiful basket of gifts and my wonderful hand painted teapot with Alice’s portrait on the front is very much appreciated and will be treasured.

I wish also to extend my thanks to the exhibitors for the quality entry and the way in which they sportingly accepted my placings. It was truly memorable and a delight to be honoured with this judging assignment.

The presentation of all exhibits was first class and a delight to judge. Quality was of a very high standard and some decisions were extremely close. My main concern was that I did find a few incorrect bites which I feel must be watched for the future of the Breed.

1.   AZIAH OHH SO COLD (Aberlee man In Black x Aziah Artistiique Eyes) Breeder: L. Robertson. Owner: Dianne Connolly. Red and White of excellent quality. Correct head proportions and ear placement. Lovely reach of neck leading to level topline held on the move. Adequate bone and correctly shaped feet. Good shoulder and rear angulation which made her the best mover in the class.
2.   PEMBURY HOUSE THE GIBSON GIRL (Ch. Triple H Enchanted Hip Hop x Ch. Pembury House Presence) Breeder/Owner: Sandi Eaton. Red and White with a well shaped head, dark eye and correct ear placement. Good reach of neck with a level topline. Correct shoulder placement which gives her a good front. Would prefer more rear angulation. Moved well.
3.   MERTHYR WANDA BE SINFUL (Ulandyn Star Raider x Merthyr Wanda Be Shayd O Lace) Breeder: L. Chalmers. Owner: Mari Fleming Carroll. Red and White of quality. Excellent front and good bone leading to correct feet. Drops slightly at croup which spoils her otherwise good topline.
4. CURIG FAERIETALE GARDENIA (Faerietale Curig Bentley x Curig Faerietale Witch Hazel) Breeders/Owners: Barbara DuPree & Susan Neave. Tri-colour of lovely type with a good head, neck and topline. I liked this bitch's type when she entered the ring unfortunately she was very lose on the move today.

SWEEPSTAKES 15 TO 18 MONTH, BITCHES (5 exhibited)

1.   CEDARCREEK'S WISH FOR GLENDARYN (Ch. Summertime Enchanted Knight x Ch. Glendaryn Gentle Persuasion) Breeder/Owner: Judith Gooding. Mature Red and White. Would prefer a shorter muzzle to give a more correct head proportion and would benefit from a slightly darker eye. Excellent reach of neck leading to a correct level topline. Good bone and well shaped feet with correct shoulders. Good rear which allowed her to move around the ring effortlessly.
2.   HONEYFOX TWICE AS NICE (Faerie Glen Replay x Honeyfox Bet On Bertha) Breeders/Owners: Susan Strickland & Patricia Taylor. Excellent type of bitch with a good head, neck and level topline. Good shoulders and rear allowing her to move correctly. Unfortunately today she seemed to give her handler a hard time and would not co-operate and show off her virtues and had to pay the price.
3.   CORGARD MEMORIES OF A LEGACY (Ch. Foxway Corg'rd Crystal Legacy x Ch. Corgard Memories of Foxway) Breeders: Kandy Boll & Michele Pohl. Owners: Kandy L. Boll & Michele L. Pohl. Red and White of larger type. Good head and eye. Ample reach of neck leading to level topline. Slightly straight in shoulder and rear which affected her overall balance and movement.
4.   SILVERMINE‑LLANDIAN GOODTIMES (Ch. Summithill Super Hero x Llandians Good Golly Ms Molly) Breeders: John & Laura Ward. Owners: Dianne Connolly & Laura & John Ward. Black headed Tri-colour with a lovely head. Would prefer more reach of neck. Correct shoulders and front, good topline and rear. Moved OK.
